Scenario

Patient Name: Alex Febbins



The patient is a 20-year-old concerned about worsening abdominal pain over the past 6 months. This is an ongoing relationship, but you have not seen this patient regularly. This is the first telehealth visit for this patient. The patient is very comfortable with technology but will need to be guided through the telehealth experience. Be prepared to have the patient position themself in an area of their home where they can conduct an exam.

The patient is comfortable receiving suggestions about counseling, nutrition therapy, and possible testing.

Tasks:

• Conduct telehealth visit with empathy, appropriate etiquette, proper abdominal assessment.

Timing:

• You will have 15 minutes to conduct the exam.
• You will receive a "2 minutes left" warning from the standardized patient.

Feedback: There will be verbal feedback with the standardized patient following the role-play.
